** "Wind, Wings & Waves" Heads North to Mayo **

Title:    Wind, Wings & Waves -

             Photographs from the oceanic waters off the west coast of Ireland.

Where:  Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet Arts Centre, Belmullet, Co. Mayo.

When:   19th February - 20th March 2009.

After a highly successful run at the Cork Vision Centre, the drama-packed Wind, Wings & Waves Exhibition will be on display at the Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet Arts Centre, Belmullet, Co. Mayo. The Exhibition will be officially opened by Dr Peter Heffernan, Chief Executive of the Marine Institute and EU Ambassador for the Sea.

This unique exhibition of over 30 photographs highlights the harsh conditions that constantly confront those who seek to eek out an existence in this unforgiving environment. Each image focuses on the extreme climatic conditions constantly experienced in the harsh offshore Atlantic Ocean habitat and on those animals that have evolved to survive the incessant barrage of Atlantic gales. 

Mick’s distinctive portfolio is described as “....a striking merger of art and photography, which captures aspects of the harsh oceanic habitat in stunning detail” - Cork Vision Centre, 2008.

Framed and unframed pictures (poster-sized and panoramic style) will be available for purchase.

** Maiden Exhibition Hits Cork **

Title:    Wind, Wings & Waves -

             Photographs from the oceanic waters off the west coast of Ireland.

Where: Cork Vision Centre, North Main Street, Cork.

When:   September 5th - 26th 2008.

 

Mick will feature his offshore and coastal portfolio at his first exhibition, which will be hosted by the Cork Vision Centre, North Main St, Cork (http://www.corkvisioncentre.com/corkvisioncentre/Main/2008-September.htm).

This collection of photographs highlights the harsh conditions that constantly confront those seabird populations that routinely use the productive Irish waters as a reliable source of food.

The proposed exhibit will be composed of over 80 framed photographs, including a series of shots taken in sequence to emphasize the drama of life offshore. Framed and unframed pictures (poster-sized and panoramic style) will be available for purchase. The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) will receive 10% of all profits generated from the exhibition.
